Miami FC 1-1 Montreal Impact: Dramatic Late Equalizer
A dramatic late equalizer by Allen Marcina split the points at FIU Stadium. Marcina, a former Impact player calmly took a late, hopeful long ball by Jack Traynor to get the Miami goal.
The Impact dominated the match for long stretches but attempted to sit on the match following a first half goal from Mario Biallo after a good setup by Ciaran O’Brien.
Miami head coach Zinho made several second half tactical changes, shifting from a 4-4-2 to a 3-4-3 late, which allowed the Blues to maintain possession for much of the half. But Miami FC created no good scoring chances until stoppage time, consistently breaking down in the final third.
Chatting in the USL Live.com booth with Fernando Clavijo, current director of soccer for Miami FC and former Colorado Rapids and New England Revolution coach he feels O’Brien, a player I like a great deal could be a top class player.
Miami FC was devoid of ideas most of the day, resorting to long balls and shots from outside the area. But in the end, a heroic game tying goal that made me look like a fool in the booth (I had said just moments earlier that the Impact were seeing out this game efficiently)
The result keeps the Blues in the final playoff position in USL-1, just two points clear of the Impact.

Blues pulled it out of their arse. At least the role reversal was in their favor. This result will favor them against the Monties, but they will have to get points on the road to pull away from the teams that are currently under them.
